Are our products organic?
Tasteology products are not certified organic, but organic processes are used.
Where do our salts come from?
Tasteology Salts are made with a base of sea salt, harvested ethically from the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. To harvest the salt a large quantity of water from the most pristine parts of the barrier reef is trapped and allowed to evaporate naturally in the sun. Once this process is over we are left with flake shards, which are then broken in to crystals to create rock salt. Our salt has not been pumped, refined or gone through any process to achieve the end result. It has been naturally dried and shattered by a manual process.
Our Pink Himalayan Rock Salt is harvested from the Khewra salt mines, where salt has been harvested for over 800 years. We take great care to source the finest ingredients for our mixes, which means the ingredients are sourced from all over. The taste you get from our salts comes straight from the herbs used and is completely natural.
Where do our peppers come from?
Our Tasteology Black Peppercorns are grown and harvested in Vietnam, where the peppercorns are locally dried and sorted before arriving in Australia.
Where do our olive oils come from?
Our extra virgin oils are locally made from the finest olives, grown and harvested in Australia. To make our oil the olives are gently crushed and cold pressed without the use of solvents or refining method, resulting in Extra Virgin Olive Oil – the highest grade of olive oil. This is a 100% natural product, the flavours are natural and preservative free.

How do the grinders work?
On the inside grinder piece there are small markings which change the size of the granules when grinded. By adjusting this you can choose the coarseness of salt or pepper that suits you.
What is the shelf life/expiry for our products?
Two years from the date of production, if stored correctly as per the product label storage instructions.
Why is there sediment in the vinegars/ dressings?
Vinegar products can become affected by "Mother of Vinegar", which is a naturally occurring process that is harmless to the product and consumer. It is commonly seen in apple cider vinegar. It usually starts forming once the product is open but can also form naturally if unopened. See a more detailed explanation below. Some of the ingredients in the vinegars and dressings contain sediment that will naturally drop to the bottom of the bottle over time. We aim to use all natural ingredients in our products, and avoid artificial binding agents.
What Is a Mother of Vinegar?
A mother of vinegar is a gelatinous film that forms naturally on the surface of an alcohol-based liquid, such as wine or cider. In the presence of oxygen, the alcohol is converted into acetic acid which creates the film. The low concentrations of acetic acid encountered in vinegar and other foods are harmless for consumption.
