Ten years of Tasteology
IN PRACTICE

Ten years of Tasteology

As Tasteology approaches its tenth year, I’ve found myself reflecting on the decade that has passed, and how it all began.

It feels not so long ago that Nigel and I were in our kitchen, testing flavours and experimenting with packaging, before children, before the pace of life shifted. It started simply, with an idea: to create something where ingredient and design were given equal weight.

Ten years on, that idea has grown alongside our family.

With four young children, Tasteology has been shaped in parallel with motherhood. The way we think about the table, about routine, about what we reach for every day, all of it has influenced how the brand has evolved. It has never been separate from family-life, but part of it.

So, it feels fitting to begin this next chapter on Mother’s Day.

Our small team at Tasteology is made up of mothers, and so many of our partners and customers are balancing the same rhythm; work, family, and everything in between. There is a shared understanding in that, and it has quietly shaped the way we work and the kind of brand we’ve built.

I’m incredibly grateful for the community that has grown around Tasteology, our wholesale partners, our customers, and the network of growers, makers, and producers we’ve had the privilege to work with over the years. Many of these relationships go back to the very beginning, when Tasteology was little more than an idea and a few early samples.

Balancing a growing business with four young children has not always been simple, but I wouldn’t change it. It has brought a clarity to what matters, and that is something we’re carrying forward. As we enter our next decade, we are continuing to build on that original intention. Refining what we make. Focusing on what endures. Deepening the relationships that have shaped us from the beginning.

I’m looking forward to stepping into the next decade of Tasteology together, with you.

So with that, I’m wishing you a warm and happy Mother’s Day, we’re starting ours with French toast around the table.
